The Idea

Why fermented, not freeze-dried

Live cultures are fragile

Manufacturing heat, shipping time, and months sitting on a shelf all reduce how many active cultures actually make it to the bowl. That's just how live cultures behave, in any product.

Ours are active until served

We ferment real cabbage and carrot in small batches. Nothing heated, nothing dried. The cultures are active right up until your dog eats it.

Simple, real ingredients

Cabbage, carrot, salt, a touch of nutritional yeast for flavor, and inulin from chicory root. No fillers, no artificial preservatives, nothing you can't picture in your own kitchen.

Made close to home

Small-batch, produced locally in the Antelope Valley, not mass-manufactured, not sitting in a warehouse for months.

Based on 1 teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight, daily, mixed into food. If this is your dog's first time trying it, or if your dog is new to fermented foods generally, start at half this amount for 3-4 days before working up to the full serving. This isn't medical advice; check with your vet if your dog has an existing health condition.

Mooncake is our picky girl. She isn't afraid to give a firm "no thank you." For instance, she'll eat eggs, but only if the texture is exactly right. If there's a dog who'd turn her nose up at something, it's her. She's eaten the kraut happily every day since day one.

Maple is the opposite kind of dog entirely. A rescue through Beagle Freedom Foundation, she'll eat anything and everything, food or not. Her vote of approval comes not from pickiness, but preference. When the food bowl goes down, the kraut's the first thing she goes for.
